We had a great visit with Matt Carlson from NSGA last week. Thank you for the commemorative boxing glove signed by Sugar Ray Leonard.

Last week we were honored with a visit from Matt Carlson, President and CEO of the National Sporting Goods Association. We have always supported the NSGA in their efforts to better serve their members. In addition to chatting with Josh Ellsworth about developing StahlsTV content specifically for sporting goods stores, we had the opportunity to show Matt our latest developments in heat printing and also took a tour of our Manufacturing and Engineering Center. The Rio 2016 Olympics were also a topic. We both agreed that the sporting goods industry usually experiences a little spike during Olympic years. People become inspired to try sports that may not have been on their radar–especially after seeing the huge success of our Olympians across the board, from judo and wrestling to steeplechase, rowing, canoeing and so many swimming, gymnastics and track and field events. Did you know there are currently 41 different sports in which you can participate in the Summer Olympics? Golf was back for the first time in 112 years. It has also recently been confirmed that the Olympic Committee will add five additional sports for 2020, which include surfing, karate, baseball/softball and sports climbing. This is an eye-opening experience for future athletes who are able to get a glimpse of sports other than the professional baseball, football or basketball coverage we are used to watching. Thank you for stopping in Matt. It was great spending time and sharing ideas with you.

Thank you to the Stahl’s Team for hosting me. I truly enjoyed the conversation about challenges and opportunities in the sporting goods industry. Thank you for helping NSGA pursue its mission: To support our members’ efforts to grow the business, and to advocate on their behalf. We can not produce quality networking and educational opportunities without the support of companies like Stahl’s. Wishing you much future success!
