Don’t Settle for Bologna

Before I get comments in defense of bologna sandwiches, let me say that I do enjoy my cold-cuts, including bologna once in a while. However, I recently heard a well presented speech that used the following quote: “Ladies and gentlemen, you have arrived at a great banquet, don’t make yourself a bologna sandwich!” While this speech was directed at an incoming class of college freshmen, it could apply to many other life situations. For example it can be applied to the way you run your business. I interpreted this quote to mean don’t take the easy way out. Don’t stay in your comfort zone. Don’t fall back on the tried and true all the time. If you want to acheive greatness it may be a bit more difficult than slapping some meat between some bread.  What’s going to be your recipe for success? Are you ready to offer your customers new decorating options this fall? Are you going to push sales of two-color numbers? What about digital printing? Distressed looks? Glitter? Reflective? You have access to so many decorating options if you own a heat press. Are you sure you’re taking advantage of them? There are so many different items you can decorate with a heat press.
