It’s that time of year, October, when leaves are falling and the color pink is everywhere. Pink?? It always fascinates me when our culture so wholeheartedly embraces trends such as wearing colors to show awareness for particular causes. It’s really great. By now, most people everywhere know that when you see pink in October, it is  to raise awareness for breast cancer.  Pink does raise awareness but it doesn’t always raise money for the cause. Just because something you are purchasing is pink doesn’t mean that money is actually going to fight breast cancer. There is an advocacy group called Think Before You Pink that is fighting what they call “pinkwashing,” or people using pink to sell products only. Are you seeing a lot of pink in your heat printing business this month? We had a few people post some pink-themed shirts on Facebook. Thanks for sharing your photos. If you are looking for ideas, there are lots of ways for you to pink things up, including stock transfers from The Wildside (The Wildside does donate a portion of the profits from their sales to the National Breast Cancer Foundation) and ribbon and awareness templates for creating EasyPrints from Transfer Express. And don’t forget about pink letters and numbers from Stahls’ for those teams that are doing special fundraising events or wearing alternative uniforms to show support.
