Sunday, July 1, the “Spirit of Stahls” team and our faithful, beautiful 1941 Packard has rolled into Dearborn, Michigan, the final checkpoint and finish line of the Great Race 2012. Whew. We can uncross our fingers now and enjoy the celebrations. Congratulations to the Grand Champions of the 2012 Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty–Barry and Irene Jason, and all finishers! The Jasons were only 41 seconds off for the past 9 days of rallying, completing over 2,300 miles through Michigan, Canada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and ending to huge fanfair at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. It is no small accomplishment! Enjoy every moment guys!
What an adventure the Spirit of Stahls’ Team has had, we have many stories to share, lots of photos and we especially want to thank everyone who took the time to come out and cheer us on as we crossed the finish line. We were surprised and delighted to be greeted by so many family members, friends and GroupeSTAHL team members, all wearing their Spirit of Stahls caps, with signs and banners and good wishes. Thanks to everyone around the world who supported us and followed our journey. We couldn’t have done it without you.

We made it! We finished in 3rd place for the Rookie Class. We’re not sure how we did it, but the car was the real hero, the Little Engine that Could, The Lady Who Wouldn’t Give Up!
