What will be the next "zombie?"
Before you go running to the window…there are no zombies outside right now, at least I hope not. But it seems that zombies are a trending topic that brought a lot of attention to a website that no one normally visits that much. On May 16, 2011, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) used the topic of zombies as a way to get the attention of people on the subject of emergency preparedness. I guess most people don’t sit around worrying about if they are prepared for the next earthquake or hurricane, but it seems many do sit around worrying what they should do if zombies start roaming the streets. The site that normally gets 3,000 hits per post received 60,000 hits before the server crashed. It’s back up and running now, but I thought this was fascinating out of the box thinking by the person behind the blog post at the CDC. Nowadays everyone is looking for the next “zombie” or the next way to get the attention of as many people as possible. Maybe the concept of zombies is something you can turn into a profit in your heat printing business. Even the walking dead need custom t-shirts.
