The demand is strong for education on how-to customize garments for profit. This is more than just a trend, it’s a fact.  We recently returned from the ASI Show in Orlando, Florida, where we presented two education sessions, one on digital printing and another how-to heat printing session covering a variety of heat printing methods that can help you increase profits, including CAD-CUT materials and transfers. Both were very well attended. Josh Ellsworth, one of the presenters, mentioned that at the digital printing session attendees were especially interested in finding full color solutions for printing on 100% white polyester shirts. Some were using sublimation transfers for this and found that the application temperatures for sublimation were leaving scorch marks on the shirts. The solution? CAD-COLOR SuperTEK printable digital media in clear or gloss. Using a printer/cutter and this low-temperature media you can easily print on more sensitive fabrics such as 100% performance polyester. The application temperature is about 100 degrees less than what’s required for sublimation transfers. During the Decorate to Sell More session, when we showed them how to decorate an oversize or “billboard” shirt. we got a round of applause. “After showing them how they could make earn $20-25 on a shirt instead of just $5-10, people starting clapping,” according to Josh. And why wouldn’t they? If you want to see what all the clapping was about, you can view an archived how-to video “How To Heat Print and Profit; Billboard Crews”  on stahlstv.com that shows a similar step by step process. And while you are on the stahlstv.com homepage, don’t forget to sign up for our “Ask the Educators” session this coming Fri, Jan 9, 2015 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EST
