All three Spirit of Stahls’ teams made it across the finish line on June 29th, arriving at Lake Sumter Landing, The Villages in Florida at varying times after 3pm. It was another amazing finish to the Great Race 2014 and we would like to congratulate Irene and Barry Jason on their third consecutive win! What an accomplishment. It’s truly challenging to stay on schedule, find all the turns and side roads and basically race against the clock for over 2,100 miles. At the awards dinner, we were reminded of just how much dedicated our fellow Great Racers are. You are all winners in our eyes. Because while the cars run on gasoline that is easily refilled (most of the time), we have mostly been running on adrenaline for the past 10 days and are pretty exhausted. We are indebted to so many of you for your help along the way, especially with repairs and most importantly with moral support when our Auburn had to be towed. We were also buoyed by so many well-wishers along the way, including our children, in-laws, cousins, siblings and grandchildren who made an effort to either visit with us or by sending a photo. And also to all our GroupeSTAHL family members around the world. We appreciate all the love. Now it’s time to get back to heat printing. (Although to be perfectly honest I never stop thinking about heat printing…more on that later this week.)
