Performance Wear Trends

Until recently, souvenir shirts at sporting events were usually just plain 100% cotton t-shirts. In fact, it used to be that you couldn’t sell a t-shirt unless it was 100% cotton. My how times have changed. For some events, if it’s not performance wear, it’s not selling. At a recent Elite Clubs National League (for elite female soccer players) Showcase in Phoenix, here’s what was being offered by event merchandiser Soccer.com  Hotronix heat presses were on  hand to take care of buyers that wanted to add player numbers, stock transfers or ECNL patches to any item.

Printed performance wear can fetch high prices. However in spite of the high prices, many items were no longer available after the 1st day--they sold out!

This lightweight Nike jacket retailed for $110. Note the full color heat transfer, which could be added to any item for an additional $10. Good marketing to show the sample with the patch already applied.
